Quilt Show - Call of the Wild

Shingletown's 7th Bi-Annual Quilt Show is coming to town September 19, 2015. The PinenNeedlers are preparing for the show chaired by Mary Bruun. While there is no charge for admission, donations are accepted. Proceeds will go to the Shingletown Library and the Black Butte School Library. This year's theme is "Call of the Wild". Quilts of all shapes and sizes are welcome from local quilters with any theme - applique, pieced, hand quilted, machine quilted, wall hangings, full sized quilts and wearable art.

The featured artist is local quilter Karen Flynn, founder of the PineNeedlers in 2002. The group meets every Wednesday in Room 17 at the Black Butte Elementary School. Local "Needlers" are invited. If your hobby requires a needle of any kind, you are welcome! Applications to exhibit quilts will be available.

The Challenge Quilt theme is "Call of the Wild", information on the challenge is available and open to any quilter. Previous Challenges have been; What do Bears do in the Woods?, Cabin in the Woods, and Patriots in the Pines. These entries always present an exciting and creative display.

Tickets are avable for the Opprotunity Quilt. This beautiful full size Log Cabin quilt features an original hand pieced center panel of our snow capped mountain, forest and mother bear and her cub in the forefront, surrounded by striking Log Cabin blocks and Bear Paw corners. The quilt was designed by Karen Flyy and each member of the PineNeedlers contributed to the quilt that was beautifully machine quilted by artist Tenna Olson of Palo Cedro. This quilt would be a welcome addition to any Shingletown home,

There will be vendors, refreshments/lunch avalible, raffle baskets and music. Plan to join the fun.
