Karyn was one of my greatest friends and supporters when I was transitioning back to civilian life after four years overseas in the Navy. She told me I was worth a damn at a time when I felt anything but. I will always remember and miss her.

I lovingly remember her excitement about going to RAIN to adopt a kitten. A while later I saw her and asked how she an her kitten were doing. She grinned, "Well, I didn't get just one, had to adopt his brother, too!" She was in love with those babies.
