Shingletown FireSafe Council Free Community Chipping East of McCumber to Viola

The Upper Shingletown Community Chipping is scheduled for July 29-31, 2021

You must complete an application/release form, sign it and return it to us in order to participate. The third page of the form includes information about what to chip and how to stack your piles. The form can be found under “Files” on the Shingletown FireSafe Council and the Shingletown Council group pages on Facebook, under “Documents” on Nextdoor, or it is the PDF shown on the July 29 Chipping Event on Shingletown.Com. You can ask for a form by calling 474.1708 or emailing us at FireSafe@ShingletownCouncil.org.

This project area includes the following roads/neighborhoods: Summit Rd., Sidebottom Rd., Deer Flat Rd. from the McCumber Dam to Hwy 44, Viola Meadows, Scharsch Meadows, Long Hay Flat, Brokeoff Meadows Rd., Rock Creek Rd., and all the side roads associated with these roads/areas.

The chipping is provided at no charge, but donations are welcome and will be used to provide other community services and assistance to other Shingletown nonprofits. The chipping contractor is paid from the Shingletown Council’s California Climate Investment (cap and trade) grant funds.
